Around 55% of women workers in Italy
have been the victims of discrimination or harassment in the
workplace, according to a new survey released on Wednesday.
The survey by the Libellula Foundation, based on interviews with
4,300 women workers all over Italy, said the harassment went
from sexual blackmail to unwanted massages and suggestive
comments and jokes about the victim's physical characteristics.
Examples of discrimination included in the LEI (Labour,
Equality, Inclusion) report included male colleagues being
promoted over women on maternity leave.
