Health Minister Roberto Speranza said
Wednesday he had signed contracts for 6,000 projects under the
vast post-COVID EU-funded National Recovery and Reslience Plan
(NRRP) to create the "National Health Service of the future".
He said they had been signed 30 days ahead of an NRRP deadline
set for its relevant 'European milestones'.
Under the programme, some 1,350 community homes will be created,
open up to 24 hours a day, and 400 community hospitals.
"In this way healthcare will be closer to people's needs," said
Speranza on Facebook.
Italy is getting almost 200 billion euros of grants and
low-interest loans under the NRRP, provided it comes up with key
structural reforms.
