A judge in the southern city of Paola
on Monday sent former Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero to
trial along with eight other people over the alleged fraudulent
bankruptcies of several companies based in Calabria.
The judge also released Ferrero from house arrest, but he
remains banned for undertaking business activities.
Ferrero, 70-year-old a businessman and cinema producer, quit as
Sampdoria's chairman after being arrested in December.
The other people to be indicted included Ferrero's daughter
Vanessa, his grandson Giorgio and his ex-wife, Laura Sini.
The case regards the bankruptcies between 2017 and 2020 of four
companies in the tourism and cinema sectors.
