All the relatives probed in the
disappearance of an 18-year-old Pakistani-Italian girl on April
30 last year were indicted for her suspected 'honour killing' on
Tuesday.
Saman Abbas went missing from the family home at Novellara near
Reggio Emilia after refusing an arranged marriage with an older
man in Pakistan.
A preliminary hearings judge (GUP) on Tuesday indicted her
uncle, Danish Hasnain, and her two cousins, Ikram Ijaz and
Nomanhulaq Nomanhulaq, who were arrested in France and Spain
after fleeing Italy.
Also indicted, in absentia, were Saman's parents, Shabbar Abbas
e Nazia Shaheen, who are believed to be hiding somewhere in
Pakistan.
The trial will start on February 10 next year.
Saman's younger brother has told prosecutors her uncle strangled
her and the others helped him dispose of her body, which has yet
to be found despite intensive searches.
