Italian police on Tuesday made 30
arrests over suspected drugs and arms trafficking in Lombardy,
police sources said.
The men were arrested in various provinces across the affluent
northern Italian region, judicial sources said.
They have been charged variously with possession and trafficking
of war-grade and ordinary weapons, possession and trafficking of
narcotics, robbery, extortion, theft, receiving stolen goods and
money laundering.
The investigation was led by Carabinieri from Sesto San Giovanni
outside Milan.
Police said the alleged gang supplied criminals in Milan and the
rest of the region.
