Eight municipal bus drivers were
indicted Friday ion charges of sexually abusing a mentally
disabled girl who is now 20 in the summer of 2020 after parking
their vehicles in secluded areas of the southern city of
Taranto.
The eight have been charged with aggravated sexual violence.
Prosecutors said the girl's mental disability was known to all.
The girl was convinced by her boyfriend to report the men.
The eight were suspended from duty in July 2021 and served with
restraining orders preventing them from going near the girl.
