The number of new COVID-19 cases
registered in Italy over the last week has fallen by 21.1%
compared to the previous seven days, for a fifth consecutive
weekly drop, the GIMBE independent health foundation said on
Thursday in its weekly coronavirus monitoring report.
It said the number of deaths recorded here had fallen too, by
18.6%.
The foundation also reported that the number of COVID-19 tests
done over the last week was down by 12.7%.
The report said the number of hospital beds occupied by
symptomatic COVID-19 patients was down by 20% with respect to
the previous week, while the number of intensive-care places
taken up by coronavirus sufferers dropped 21%.
