(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 28 - The office of Italy's COVID-19
Emergency Commissioner Francesco Figliuolo said Friday that
enough doses of the Paxlovid pill to treat COVID-19 have been
ordered this year for 600,000 treatments thanks a contract with
Pfizer.
It said the first batch of 11,200 treatments will arrive next
week and they will be distributed to the nation's regions.
Paxlovid is the first antiviral medicine to be given by mouth
that is recommended in the EU for treating COVID-19 (ANSA).
