Former head of the Palermo
court's prevention measures section Silvana Saguto on Friday got
eight and a half years in jail for clientelism in the
appointment in exchange for cash and favours of administrators
of property seized from the mafia.
During the trial, Saguto was disbarred from the Italian
judiciary.
She has always claimed to be innocent.
Her lawyer said she would appeal.
