A small town near Foggia in
Puglia has blocked access with bales of hay to prevent
coronavirus contagion.
The mayor of Monteleone di Puglia, Giovanni Campese, took the
action despite there being no infections in the 1,000-strong
community, although five citizens who have returned from red
zones are in self-isolation.
"We used the material at our disposal, not being equipped
with many roadblock barriers, so we resorted to the raw
materials of our community," Campese said.
