A Rome court on Thursday found
Raffaele Marra, the city council's former head of personnel,
guilty of corruption and sentenced him to a jail term of three
years, six months.
The accusations relate to 370,000 euros that Marra
allegedly received from late construction businessman Sergio
Scarpellini in relation the acquisition of an apartment in the
Prati Fiscali district in 2013.
At the time Marra was director of the city's housing
department.
The court said that the apartment in question must be
seized and the city receive compensation of 100,000 euros.
Scarpellini died last month.
Marra was once considered a close aide of Rome Mayor Virginia
Raggi.
