A 17-year-old boy suspected of
causing a stampede at a nightclub near Ancona last weekend in
which six people died, including five minors, was released on
Wednesday.
The boy is suspected of having caused the wave of panic that
led to the stampede at the Lanterna Azzurra in Corinaldo by
using pepper spray.
He is probed for alleged manslaughter and causing bodily
harm.
The teen was held on the basis of a drugs allegation.
Ancona's court for minors said Wednesday that there were no
longer grounds for the suspect to remain in detention.
Seven other people involved in the management of the
Lanterna Azzurra are also under investigation.
