The teachers, parents and
classmates of an immunosuppressed girl at a primary school in
the northern town of Baone, near Padua, decided to get a flu
shot in order to protect her.
The eight-year-old girl cannot get vaccinated because her
immune system is compromised and a seasonal virus could pose a
risk for her health.
A total of 20 children, three teachers and a group of parents
were given the vaccine to provide a high level of coverage in
the class and prevent the circulation of viruses, medical
personnel said.
