(ANSA) - Milan, October 8 - Some 58 heads of state and of
government have visited Expo since its opening in May, general
manager participants Stefano Gatti said Thursday.
The number will have topped 60 by the close of the World's
Fair at the end of this month, he added.
In total there have been 300 institutional visits to the
food-themed Universal Exposition, with some visitors returning a
second time.
This is the case, for example, of Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano,
Queen of Spain, who will return to Expo on October 16 after a
first visit in July for the presentation of the Charter of Milan
on food security to UN Secretary-General Ban-ki Moon.
Queen Letizia is UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO)
special ambassador for nutrition.
