Reciprocity is needed on Chinese
tariffs on Italian products, Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani said Saturday ahead of a meeting with Chinese
Foreign Trade Minister Wang Wentao on Monday.
"On Monday I will meet the Chinese foreign trade minister and we
will try to understand what they intend to do about duties for
Italian products. We have to make sure that certain rules are
respected, i.e. reciprocity is a principle we want," said Tajani
on the sidelines of a meeting with Coldiretti Sardegna farm
group at the wineries of Dolianova, a few kilometres from
Cagliari.
"(We need) the same rules and so we can get along, we certainly
cannot accept either social or environmental dumping, without
there being unfair competition," he concluded.
