In June, loans to the private sector,
adjusted on the basis of the harmonised methodology agreed
within the European System of Central Banks, decreased by 1.6%
over twelve months (-2% in the previous month), the Bank of
Italy said Friday.
It said loans to households decreased by 0.9 per cent over the
twelve months (-1.0 in the previous month), while those to
non-financial companies decreased by 3.4 per cent (-3.1 in the
previous month).
Private sector deposits increased by 2.9 per cent (they had
decreased by 0.1 per cent in May); bond deposits increased by
14.8 per cent (18.8 in May).
