Italy means to stay in line with the
targets laid out in its NADEF economic blueprint update for the
sake of its credibility on the international markets, Economy
Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said Monday.
"We are ending the season of the Superbonus with extremely heavy
baggage for the public accounts and therefore for all Italians,"
he said answering a question on the NADEF expected to be
approved by cabinet Tuesday.
"This is the reality and therefore over the next few years we
will have to pay down this debt.
Asked about the possible need for a supplementary budget, the
minister said "we must respect exactly the NADEF targets
presented in the autumn for a question of credibility.
"If there is something to be corrected we will correct it but we
are substantially in line"," he said, ruling out a fresh budget
move.
