"Italy is the only country to have
proposed a candidate" to the ECB board to replace Fabio Panetta:
it is Bankitalia deputy governor Piero Cipollone, Eurogroup
President Paschal Donohoe said Wednesday.
Today was the deadline for the presentation of candidates for
the Eurotower Executive Board.
Cipollone's candidature, Donohoe added, will be discussed at the
15 September Eurogroup meeting in Santiago de Compostela.
