Average Italian industrial producer
prices, driven by energy, grew by 34.4% in 2022 (+10.8% in
2021), the highest annual hike since 2000, ISTAT said Monday.
In December, industrial producer prices rose by 2.9% on a
monthly basis and by 31.7% on an annual basis (it was +29.4% in
November).
Net of the energy sector, prices actually decreased by 0.1%
compared to the previous month and recorded a trend growth of
11.2%, a slowdown compared to November (+12.0%).
Industrial producer prices in 2022 rose by 104.3% for energy
compared to 33.6% in 2021, due to the Ukraine war, said the
national statistics institute.
In the average of 2022, prices show a growth of 34.4%, the
highest since 2000. The dynamics observed on the domestic market
(+42.7%), conditioned by the increase in the prices of energy
products (+104.3%), are the main contributors.
Net of these products, the average annual growth in prices on
the domestic market is 12.8% (+5.4% in 2021). For construction,
price growth in the average 2022 is more than double that of
2021 conditioned by the increase in material costs.
