A new set of government incentives to
encourage people to buy low-environmental-impact cars, scooters
and motorbikes kick in on Monday.
The incentives will enable people to get discounts of up to
5,000 euros on the price of a new Green vehicle.
They are set to give a boost to the motor sector, which has been
hit hard by the knock-on effects of the war in Ukraine and the
shortage of raw materials, with sales down by a third in April
with respect to the same month last year and by 44.4% on
pre-COVID levels.
