The spread between Italy's BTP
10-year bond and the German Bund rose to 130 basis points on
Friday, the highest level since July 2020, with the yield on the
BTP up to 1.21%.
The spread closed on 118 points on Thursday and 112 on
Wednesday.
The sharp rise in the spread is reportedly linked market doubts
about the ECB's policy and its assessment that the recent spike
in inflation is a temporary phenomenon.
