Pleasure boat traffic in Italian
tourist destination ports rose 4% in summer this year over the
same period in 2014, a study by Italian tourist port association
Assomarinas showed Friday.
"We can confirm that after five years of crisis in the
tourist port sector - which was hit with a slight delay compared
to the boat building and nautical production sector generally -
the market has revived," Assomarinas President Roberto Perocchio
told a round table at the Genoa International Boat Show, which
running through October 5.
"We have seen an encouraging number of vessels coming out
of storage," he said.
"Consumers' love of boating holidays has returned".
A 10% VAT tax for docking in a marina was much appreciated
by both Italian and foreign boaters, he added.
