Business and Made in Italy Minister
Adolfo Urso on Tuesday urged the European Union to immediately
promote constructive dialogue with Washington, saying a trade
war must be avoided as it would have devastating consequences.
"The West must unite and not divide, with a shared energy,
industrial and commercial policy that is able to respond in an
assertive way to the challenges of global actors", Urso said at
the informal EU competitiveness and trade council in Warsaw.
"The EU needs to immediately establish a constructive dialogue
with Washington to promote new strategic cooperation to
strengthen the relationship" over "energy, defence, new
technologies and space, on which new global competitiveness is
achieved", he noted.
"It is necessary to avoid a trade war, it would have devastating
consequences for each one of us", Urso added.
