Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani on Monday said tariffs will be at the centre of
his first trip to the US once the new administration of
President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
"The issue of tariffs will be at the centre of my first trip to
the U.S. after the new administration settles in and I remember
when President Trump had a different approach towards Italy
compared to the one he had towards other countries", Tajani
noted on the sidelines of the presentation of the event "Naples
capital of the Mediterranean: developments and perspectives" to
mark the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Consular
Corps in Naples.
The foreign minister stressed Italy "lives on exports, which
represent 40% of GDP, so we will work in order to increasingly
tackle the foreign market".
