Premier Giorgia Meloni led the
tributes to Totò Schillaci after the former Italy forward died
at the age of 59 on Wednesday.
"A football icon, a man who entered the hearts of the Italian
people and of sports lovers around the world, has left us,"
Meloni said on social media.
"Salvatore Schillaci, known to everyone as Totò, the striker of
the magic nights of Italia '90 with our national team.
"Thank you for the emotions you gave us, for having make us
dream, celebrate, embrace and wave our Tricolour flag.
"Have good journey, champion".
