The Inter and Milan football clubs
have reached the conclusion that Milan's San Siro Stadium
"cannot be renovated", at least "not at accessible costs", the
city's mayor, Giuseppe Sala, said on Friday after a meeting with
the two clubs on the future of the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, also
known as San Siro.
The hypothesis of renovating San Siro had been considered
possible over the past few months.
The two clubs' proposal "is to go back to the idea of a new
stadium" which would be built in the same area as the Meazza,
according to a project previously discussed in 2019, said Sala.
The clubs reached this conclusion after "long technical and
economic feasibility tests", concluded the mayor of Milan.
