Meredith Kercher's "harrowing scream" when she was killed "is a
real fact" and a "circumstance punctually reported in the
memorial" of Amanda Knox, which is "true" according to the Court
of Appeal of Florence, which in June re-convicted the American
of slander for initially fingering her friend and Congolese
Perugia bar owner Patrick Lumumba for the murder of her British
flatmate in the Umbrian capital on October 31-November 1, 2007,
the judges said in their explanation of the sentence Friday.
For the judges, the American then exchange student "was
perfectly aware of the innocence" of Lumumba because "she was
inside the house at the time of the murder and therefore well
aware that he was not there".
They added: "that agonising scream that in her account required
her to bring her hands to her ears and cower in the kitchen in
an attempt not to hear it is an actual fact".
