The Charon anticyclone that has
brought a record three-week-long heatwave to Italy is persisting
in much of the country but storms will hit the north in the next
few days, forecaster Lorenzo Tedici said Wednesday.
He said the rain and hail, the product of a deep extra-tropical
cyclone between Iceland, Scotland and Norway, will start
affecting northern Italy in the next few hours.
