Rana Reider, coach of Italian sprinter
Marcell Jacobs, has had his accreditation withdrawn at the Paris
Olympics over allegations of sexual abuse.
Reider, an American citizen who also coaches Canada's Andree De
Grasse, had received his accreditation from the Canadian Olympic
Committee as personal coach and was thus not part of Team
Canada's staff.
The measure was requested by the World Athletics, possibly at
the request of the International Olympic Committee.
Reider will now not be allowed to access training and
competition venues.
The situation is not expected to have an impact on Jacobs, who
after finishing fifth in the 100m race is now slated to take
part in the 4x100m relay.
