The Italian women's volleyball team
will play against arch rivals Serbia in the quarterfinals at the
2024 Paris Olympics scheduled on Tuesday, after the Serbian
squad beat China on Sunday night.
Julio Velasco's team will compete against Serbia to reach the
semifinals in a repeat of the match at the Tokyo Games three
years ago.
The winner will progress to the semifinals to play against the
team that will clinch victory in the China-Turkey match.
The other teams to face off in the quarterfinals are
Brazil-Dominican Republic and United States-Poland.
The Italians have never finished higher than fifth at the
Olympics.
