Three women were injured on Saturday
after lighting struck a crowded beach in Alba Adriatica, a
resort in the Abruzzo region on the Adriatic Sea.
Two are in serious condition, including a 41-year-old woman who
suffered cardiac arrest.
She was taken by helicopter to the Mazzini hospital in Teramo
where she is being treated in the intensive care unit.
The second tourist in serious condition is a 64-year-old Belgian
woman who temporarily lost feeling in her legs and had a heart
attack.
