An unspecified number of victims were
said to have been caused by a crash Wednesday between a coach
carrying children on a trip and a Red Cross ambulance in a
tunnel near Urbino in Marche.
The ambulance caught fire and a thick cloud of smoke billowed
through the tunnel.
The accident happened in the tunnel on the SS73 bis beltway
connecting Urbino and Fermignano.
Traffic is closed in both directions as emergency crews race to
the scene.
