(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 20 - An Italian prosecutor said Monday
that Filippo Turetta, the 22-year-old Padua university
biomedical engineering student charged with killing his
22-year-old ex-girlfriend and course mate Giulia Cecchettin near
Venice a week ago, may return to Italy in 10 days or so after an
extradition request is processes.
The process has been accelerated by Turetta's agreeing to come
back, said Venice Chief Prosecutor Bruno Cherchi.
"Already since yesterday," he said in Venice, "contacts have
been initiated with the German judiciary, the timing of Filippo
Turetta's extradition depends on them, but they are very
cooperative". (ANSA).
