Some 50,000 people attended an
anti-government rally by the centre-left Democratic Party (PD),
Italy's biggest opposition party, in Rome on Saturday, PD
sources said.
PD leader Elly Schlein told the demo in the central Piazza del
Popolo, which was dubbed 'For A Fairer Future, There Is An
Alternative': "This is a wonderful piazza, just look at how many
people have taken part, the alternative is here around us".
Schlein is set to close the rally with a speech later Saturday.
