A Video of a man diving off a Venice
palazzo into one of the lagoon city's canals has gone viral on
the Internet.
The man swan-dived into a rio near the church of San Pantalon,
behind Campo Santa Margherita, on Thursday.
He dived from a considerable height and swam to the edge of the
canal where another person was waiting to give him a towel.
The video also records shocked comments by local residents,
despite the fact that such stunts are becoming common in Venice.
Mayor Luigi Brugnaro tweeted: "We should give a certificate of
stupidity to this individual. and a load of kicks up the
backside. We are trying to identify him, to cite him. He and his
mate down below who was shooting the cretinous video for social
media.
"By now these stunts have become run-of the-mill, but these
people are risking their necks for a few likes".
