(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 17 - The interior ministry's national
committee for public order and security on Friday sounded the
alarm about the risk of possible violence between fans at
Sunday's Rome derby between Lazio and AS Roma and next
Thursday's international game between Italy and England in
Naples.
Around 2,000 England fans are expected to come to the southern
Italian city for the match.
Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, meanwhile, said Friday that he had
asked Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi to ban Feyendoord fans
for the Italian leg of the Dutch side's Europa League
quarter-final against AS Roma due to fears of trouble.
Fans of Eintracht Frankfurt were banned from attending their
team's Champions League clash against Napoli this week but
hundreds came to Naples anyway and there was havoc before and
after the game.
Beforehand, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin criticized the
decision to stop Frankfurt residents attending and threatened to
move games away from clubs' home grounds if away fans are banned
in future. (ANSA).
