(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 23 -

A 61-year-old father killed his 26-year-old son after a row over the young man's debts and money problems at Canelli near Asti in Piedmont Wednesday, police said.
The man, Piero Pesce, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his son Valerio.
He allegedly used a sharp object to kill his son, police said.
The alleged murder took place in the town and not out in the country, police said.
Neighbours said they were surprised because Pesce had always appeared a calm and friendly man.
They said they had heard shouts for help at dawn Wednesday.
