Italy is fourth in the world for the
number of malware attacks is suffers, behind Germany, France and
Britain, according to the 'Navigating new frontiers' report from
the Trend Micro Research company.
In 2021, it said, over 60 million malicious viruses were
intercepted in Italy.
This was up from 20 million in 2020.
Over 336 million e-mail threats hit Italy in 2021 while 269
million malicious sites were blocked in the country and the
number of malign apps downloaded was 51,000.
Online banking malware intercepted amounted to almost 3,500, the
report said.
