Premier Mario Draghi said Wednesday that his administration is preparing a major package of measures to reduce the impact of soaring energy prices.
"The government is preparing a large-scale intervention (that will be presented) in the next few days," Draghi said during a visit to Genoa.
He added that the executive would stay on track with its pledges to deliver reforms as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) in order to get close to 200 billion euros in grants and low-interest loans from the EU's COVID-19 recovery fund.
"Last year we achieved all the (NRRP) targets," he said.
"The same will happen this year.
"It is question of seriousness with respect to the citizens and our European partners.
"And it is a question of reliability".
