Napoli's Nigeria centre-forward Victor Osimhen will be out for a long spell with face fractures sustained in a clash of heads with Inter's Slovakia centre-back Milan Skriniar in Sunday's 3-2 win for the Nerazzurri at San Siro, Azzurri sources said Monday.
Oseimhen broke his left cheekbone and his orbital bone in the incident, and will be out for at least a month after the bones are reset, the Napoli sources said.
He is expected to return after Christmas.
His participation in the African Cup of Nations is also in doubt.
The 22-year-old, who won Ligue 1 with Lille last term, has been instrumental in Napoli leading Serie A this season, with 10 goals from 19 games.
Former Sampdoria defender Skriniar sustained a concussion.
