On virus fears and failed OPEC deal

(ANSA) - Milan, March 9 - The Milan stock exchange's FTSE mib index fell 11.17% to close on 18,475 points on Monday, amid fears about the impact of the coronavirus.

The index had fallen to 18.346 at one stage in the day's trading.
It was the index's second-biggest loss in a single session behind the day after the Brexit vote in the UK in June 2016

As well as the virus, European stocks were hit by a plunge in oil prices after the failure of a OPEC deal between Saudi Arabia and Russia.
