The supreme Court of Cassation on
Monday recognised actor Fabio Camilli as the legitimate son of
late singing and songwriting legend Domenico Modugno ending 18
years of legal battles.
"I have had to wage a battle to be able to say who my father
was," Fabio Modugno told ANSA.
"It has been a strenuous and exhausting journey.
"My first thank you is to my friend and lawyer Gianfranco
Dosi".
Fabio is the son of Triestine dancer, choreographer and
director Maurizia Calì, the "beautiful Kalì" of one of Modugno's
innumerable hits, 'Pasqualino Maragià'.
He said "the paternity recognition process with an average
length of 4-5 years turned into a long obstacle course for me,
lasting what I think is a record 18 years.
"In any case it's over, I've done it. There are many people
I'll have to thank for being close to me over the years.
"In particular lawyer Gianfranco Dosi who in all these years
managed to keep the tiller straight during this extremely long
judicial storm, at last succeeding in getting us into port alive
and victorious".
