The European Commission on
Thursday reported Italy to the European Court of Justice over
smog and sewers.
The EC said it was citing Rome for repeatedly breaching the
permitted levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the air and a
failure to improve sewage water treatment systems in small urban
centres.
As for smog, Italy was already reported to the ECJ in May for
breaking fine particle PM 10 levels.
On sewage water, Italy is already paying millions of euros in
fines.
