Interior Minister Matteo Salvini
on Tuesday urged French President Emmanuel Macron to give Italy
back 14 terrorist fugitives who have been tracked down to
France.
"I'll ask the French president to do as (Brazilian President
Jair) Bolsonaro did (with Cesare Battisti)," Salvini said.
"I'd like the French president, too, to have this opening, to
show that good sense also out of respect of those millions of
French people with whom we live fraternally: give us back our
terrorists".
Salvini also said Battisti should "shut up and say sorry" to
the relatives of his four victims, rather than tell the radical
party that he felt "humiliated" by his arrest and extradition to
Italy earlier this month.
