19 arrested in anti-Camorra operation in Naples and Florence

(ANSA) - Naples, November 7 - Police in Naples and Florence on Tuesday morning arrested 19 suspected members of the Mallardo clan of Neapolitan-based crime syndicate Camorra.
    The suspected clan boss, Francesco Mallardo, and his brother in law, Liccardo Antimo, an employee of the municipal administration of Giugliano in the Campania region, are among those arrested in the nationwide operation.
    The 19 under arrest are accused of mafia-style criminal conspiracy, money laundering, violating gun laws and fictitiously registering assets.
    Police also seized villas, bank accounts and assets for a total value of a reported 50 million euros as part of the operation, which is coordinated by DDA anti-mafia investigators.
