Overweight refuse collectors put on diet

'Face risk of on-job injuries'

(ANSA) - Lucca, October 28 - Overweight refuse collectors in three towns in the chic Tuscan resort area of Versilia have been put on a diet because of the alleged risk of work accidents, La Nazione daily reported Friday.
The local trash collection company ERSU has ordered a sixth of its 220 workers to get their weight down or face sanctions, the daily reported.
The dustbin men and women work in the towns of Pietrasanta, Seravezza and the famed upscale resort of Forte dei Marmi.
