Starbucks' first Italian shop to open in Milan in 2017

Coffee chain to work in partnership with brand manager Percassi

(ANSA) - New York, February 29 - Multinational Seattle-based coffee chain Starbucks announced Monday that it will open its first shop on Italian soil in Milan in 2017, in a partnership with Italian brand manager Percassi.
Starbucks is already well-established in Europe but thus far hasn't opened any shops in Italy, where coffee culture runs deep and is strongly rooted to the traditional espresso bar.
The opening represents a coming full circle for the chain, as its founder Howard Schultz got the idea for his uniquely American version of an Italian espresso bar after a visit to the country in 1980.
