Premier Matteo Renzi has said
in an interview with Bloomberg that "the European Union is like
the orchestra that played on the Titanic (as it sank)". The
Italian premier has repeatedly called on the EU to change
direction to focus more on growth and employment and become less
bureaucratic. "Today we have conducted reforms (at home) and we
are in a position to be able to say to our European partners -
'friends, we can change this mistaken bureaucratic approach',"
Renzi said.
