All schools in Los Angeles
were closed and lessons suspended until further notice on
Tuesday following an alleged bomb scare, the Los Angeles Times
reports.
Local authorities told all 640,000 state school pupils and
students to "stay away from campuses" and school buses were
called back to base before they began their daily rounds.
The alarm allegedly concerned "not one, two or three
schools, but many institutes that have not yet been identified",
according to school district president Steve Zimmer.
All schools will be inspected, he added.
