Anti-establishment 5-Star
Movement (M5S) leader Beppe Grillo on Tuesday opened the M5S
candidacy race for the Rome city council and mayor's office.
The election, after the recent ouster of Democratic Party
(PD) mayor Ignazio Marino and dissolution of the council, is set
to take place in June.
Candidates, who have to be M5S members, can run on the Web
from today until December 4.
Former comic Grillo said "we can take back Rome in a
clean, honest and transparent way, handing it back to those who
live it every day."
The M5S currently holds a big lead over the PD in opinion
polls.
